The Why
Everyone knows Maine was a better place growing up.
Houses are out of reach for most of Mainers and we are 80,000 homes short. Homes have doubled in price since 2011 while wages have lagged behind.
Cost of Living is out of control with electricity rate raising 80% in recent years. Cost of living has outpaced Maine's growth. Winters have become brutally expensive.
Maine is bleeding talent from our work force creating chronic shortages. Folks ages 20-44 are down 10% since 2010.
Maine was number 1 in the nation for per-capita drug overdoses peaking at 600+ annually. Fentanyl has found its way to every fishing town in Maine.
Childcare shortages cripple young families ability to stay in Maine. Maine lost 600 childcare providers since 2008 due to over regulating.
Maine has the 4th highest tax burden yet the 43rd best school results. Those numbers should be reversed.
Our grandchildren should have the
beauty and abundance our grandparents had.
Bold Action, Bright Future
Fix the housing crisis head on by cutting the red tape. Over regulations have only increased prices and slowed down production.
Maines outlandish energy costs can be slashed by lowering our kWh prices 60% to the national average. Mandates have bloated your bill for nothing.
Creating a more business friendly state where young families can earn an honest living by making Maine affordable again
Maine needs to fight drug addiction - not accept it. Stop tax payer funded coaches and start detox facilities to get people educated and clean.
Child care incentives along with a look at what regulations are actually driving up childcare costs are a smart investment for Maine families. Maine is the 41st most childcare restrictive state in the nation. We are regulating ourselves out of affordable childcare.
As the quote goes, "Where's the money Lebowski"? We need to take a long hard look at why Mainers enjoy some of the highest taxes yet we are failing our students year after year academically and our housing market is upside down.
